The lyrics referenced the fact that I felt I had started writing predictable lyrics about "chips and gravy". The music continued the loop based ideas of dark Horse but using folk/acoustic guitars as a starting point. Live/looped penny whistle and melodica also feature a bit through the album. I'd never heard Nick Drake or Bryter Layter until well after this I swear!
