Originally a song written to be performed with Amsterdam Film Company (we did it a couple of times I think and credit goes to them for helping work the arrangement out). The intro section was added as this became the opening number in my often aborted rock Opera of the same name. Jenny Hosie sings the intro which is also adapted from an earlier song "Early Retirement" which featured as a hidden track on the "Home" album. Early Retirement was going to end up being the final song in the Opera although "Sparkle Inside" was used at its only live performance at the Waiting Room. Confused? You will be. Other songs that featured in various versions of The Lights were All Night Garage, A Million Girls and the unreleased Window Shopping which features on this collection as a bonus track.
